Santara Kaur Pawar (b. 2002) is a British-Indian artist whose practice spans painting, sound, ink and metalwork. Her work is informed by philosophies within Chinese Landscape Painting, through which she approaches landscape as something that is felt rather than a scene to be observed—a site where the external world and an internal, emotional one converge.

Within her paintings, inner feeling is expressed through natural form; seeming voids and absences become spaces charged with aliveness and emotion. Among other elements of her practice, this ambiguity invites the viewer to consider their relationship to the self and to fixed concepts. Across all disciplines, her work moves between presence and disappearance, sensation and silence, generating a visceral, unconscious response that challenges our understanding of perception.

Pawar completed her MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art (2024–2025), where she was awarded the President and Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship, following a BA at the University for the Creative Arts, Canterbury (2020–2023). Her work has been presented at D Contemporary (2025) and Herbert Read Gallery (2022).
