Dominique Bailey-Boahene is a London-based, British multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, textiles and participatory art. At the heart of her practice is people and their stories, community, relationships, and materiality. Drawing on her Ghanaian and Jamaican heritage, her current practice uses discarded textiles and traditional rag-rug techniques, passed down through generations, to explore cultural inheritance and memory.

Through workshops and collaborative projects with family, friends and members of the public, Bailey-Boahene brings individuals together to develop skills as well as share stories and lived experience. Her work considers how traditions are preserved, adapted and carried forward within communities.

Bailey-Boahene holds a BA (hons) from Kingston School of Art, she has exhibited at The Art Hub, The Swan Gallery, Alliance Française Gallery (Singapore), and Fusebox. Working with institutions such as Stanley Picker Gallery running public participatory workshops, Rag Rugs and Weaving and More Rag Rugs and Weaving, to inform her on-going practice-based research.
